
“I have always been curious about how things work and from an early age, I could be found pulling apart broken toasters, electric motors, lawnmowers, anything that had moving parts. Sometimes I even managed to fix them,” Brent laughs. “My mother didn’t thank me for all the grubby clothes I put in the laundry, but she never stopped me from pursuing my interest. I wanted to know more when I was older, so I trained as an automotive mechanic. I love the challenge of determining what is wrong with something and then being able to repair it.”
The Company
Brent Mangos and his wife, Fiona, formed Lite Commercial Dismantlers in 2004. The company operated on a small scale alongside their primary business. After the Christchurch Earthquake on 22 February 2011, they decided to concentrate on the little company that was once just a hobby.
What We Do
At Lite Commercial Dismantlers, we provide quality reconditioned manual gearboxes for 4WDs, utes, and light trucks. We specialise in Ford, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota gearboxes but will also repair or recondition other brands.
After working in the motor trade for over 30 years, Brent now focuses his knowledge on reconditioning gearboxes. “Helping clients gives me a lot of personal satisfaction. Sometimes we can’t help the client ourselves, so we do our best to refer them to someone else who can.”
Although the business is in Christchurch, we offer local and nationwide delivery for all our clients.
